99.5 pathfinder cranks, does not start---unknown trouble code

Hi everyone...just registered. I've been searching and reading this forum (and others) for a solution to this problem for several days. What a wonderful source of information and insight!

Long story, short:

-SES light pops on, I ignore it.-several days later, engine cranks with no start.-assuming the micro-chipped key needed resetting, I disconnected battery.-engine starts and runs for about 50 collective miles. (2-3 short trips).-next day, same problem. did the battery thing again with same results as before.-did this two more times (out of necessity) and finally found time to fix it.-pulled the ecm which blinked only one code: 2 long flashes and 10 short.-maybe it's just me but what does that convert to? p2010? p0210? These codes just don't exist.

considering the vehicle's symptoms, some posts here suggest it's the crank or cam position sensor but why didn't any of those codes blink?

BTW disconnecting the battery doesn't always work and when it does start, it seems very reluctant- sluggish, and then it runs perfectly. And also disconnecting the battery doesn't always cause the SES light to turn off.

If I can get it to start today, I'll take it to autozone to have the codes read but murphy's law states that the SES light won't turn on since the battery has been disconnected all night.

found generic trouble code p0210. "injector circuit malfunction cyl 10" -but I only counted six spark plugs.
