!984 Datsun 720 2wd Z24 High Idle

!984 Nissan 720 Pickup 2wd z24 engine. I bought my truck with a high idle problem any ideas how I can fix this?

Also I left my lights on yesterday and drained battery. It barely started after work and now my fuel pump relay is chirping when I accelerate.

Does your truck have the 6-wire feedback carburetor or the 3(?)-wire? For the 6-wire carb, high idle is often an indication of a vacuum leak.

Other than that, check your engine timing. And if you look down the carb barrels with a flashlight, can you see if the butterflies are shutting properly? If the butterflies are letting extra air in at idle, that will bring your idle up as well.
