I'm in a emissions county so i'm required to pass.
Here's what I'm dealing with. '98 SE (SR20DE) that is turbo'd. For fuel management I'm running a JWT '96 ecu that is supposed to and has previously passed OBD2 emissions.
Currently I can't pass merely because I have 3 systems not "ready". I have a code scanner, FSM, and the TSB that have been specificly set out for this model ecu. It is listed on most DEQ (environmental quality) boards as being tough to get all the systems on "ready". The TSB was supposed to address the "drive cycle" that I needed to drive to get the systems to say they were ok. I have done at least one cycle a night for the past week and still can't get it to say it's "ready". Everything has been unchanged since it passed last time so I know it's capable of changing the codes as being set up and ready to go. I unplugged the SAFC2 which set off some codes, which were previously cleared with my scanner. So now I just need to get the systems to complete their cyle.
How do the dealership boys get these things to change. I hate to have to pay for dyno time just to get it through emissions, I think that's rediculous.
If someone has more information about how to get the systems to play nicely let me know.
Thanks in advance.
