Ive got a 1998 240 SE. First off, I wanted to ask if the SE got a different suspension than the base or LE's?

2nd, would Eibach Sportline springs last a while on the OEM struts? A big thing that I had to deal with when I had my Cavalier, was that after a short period on OEM struts....my Eibach Pro-Kit springs made the car ride rougher than a truck.

Please tell me that the quality is much higher on the Nissans.

Also, are there any real major concerns when doing the spring swap? The Cavi was fairly easy, just time consuming.

Thanks guys.Brad

OEM shocks with aftermarket springs is not good, although the other way around should be OK. If you're gonna get OEM springs, get shocks while youre at it.

Use a spring compressor.

The SE has the same suspension as a base model, except the SE will have a rear anti-sway bar. The rest is identical.

Are the OEM struts on the Nissan cars pretty well known for blowing out, a short period of time after lowering springs are installed? Or will they at least last a little while?

Thanks,Brad

Depends on a lot of factors. The use, the type of roads, the spring rates, weight of car, the condition of the shocks before adding the springs, etc.

I'd say if you have it apart already, and can afford it, do the shocks at the same time. You can certainly run stock shocks, but expect to have to change them at some point.
