98 qx4 strut tower rusted out

What a shock when my mechanic showed me this!

Left side totally rusted out where the strut tower meets the inside wheel well

was banging on inside of hood and MASTER CYLINDER, VERY DANGEROUS,,,one big pothole and YOWEE NO BRAKES!

How can a vehicle that's only 10 years old have such a serious major frame weakness??

any recalls exist?

10 years in Quebec, with salt every winter?I'm not that surprised it's rusted out, actually.That's the price we pay for living up here.That's also why I oil spray my truck every year.By the way, maybe this problem also explains the noise issue you are having.(The problem that you posted up about earlier.)

i had the fender welded and that noise is still present
