Hello all I am new to the site and can not find a thread that helps me so I am going to try posting my own topic.

The issue started when my wife was on her way home a week ago today. She had to hit her brakes hard due to a guy in front of her missed his turn and hit his hard. When she hit the brakes the truck shut down and would not start again.

I got there and checked what I could that late at night as it was cold and a light mist and fog was all about. After putting more fuel in it and checking the spark as well as checking the fuel pump I left it on the side of the road for the night.

The next day I tried a number of miner things that did not work. I then put a new fuel filter on it and after that it started up. After it warmed up I drove it 2 or 3 blocks and it shut down and would not start again.

I had to get it towed at that point. I got it to my dads house who is an old school mechanic.

The next day we checked the fuel preasure and thought it was too low so we changed the fuel pump. After that it started up. A lot of water vapor came out of the tail pipe but ran fine under idle. I took it out for a test drive thinking it was working. when I left his house the temp was just above cold line. As the truck started to warm it felt as if it wanted to stall out. When it reached normal temp it shut down and would not start again.

The only thing we did that was the same both times was to let all preasure out of the fuel lines and hook a charger to the battery.

I have an OBD2 scanner and the first time I ran it the code (P0180-Fuel tank temp sensor- A circuit malfunction) came up. I ran the erase to see if that might fix it due to the weather we had the night before and it did nothing. After it running the next 2 time no codes have shown back up at all.

I am lost any help would be nice and thank you now for any help you might give.

The truck is a 98 Infiniti QX4 with a 3300 engine and 4X4 drive train.

my buddy had similar symptoms (albeit on a toyota truck) and it turned out to be a sensor. (specifically his was the intake air temp sensor but it could be any sort of air or temp sensor i would think)
