98 QX4 oil change suggestion

Hi,

Got a 98 QX4. I need suggestion for the oil filter removal without the spill. I did the oil changes a few times but every time got lots of oil on my garage floor and my body. The cause I see is the oil filter is at the bottom of the engine, with the opening facing straight up. After the oil is drained, the filter is still filled with oil. It is plain difficult for me to maneuver it out of the area without pouring the remaining oil all over the place. As the result, every oil changes takes me about 1 hour to do, including the clean up, while I can do it in 5 minutes on my G20.

Want to know how do you guys do it. Thanks.
