Hey Guys,I hope you can help me with this. I have a 98 Q45t with 108k miles and it's been running beautifully. I went away this weekend and when I got home I tried to start the car. When I first got in it seemed like it had plenty of power (ie, the drivers seat moved into position at the normal speed, interior lights seemed normal, etc... When I turned the key I thought I heard kind of a 'thump' in the back but I'm not sure if it has anything to do with this. In any case, it acted like the battery was pretty much dead. The battery is only about 18 months old so I figured I had left a light on or something. I hooked up a set of jumpers to my wifes mini-van but the most I could get the car to do was to barely turn the engine over one revolution per turn of the key. I hooked up a battery charger and let it run all night and it indicated the battery was fully charged this morning. Unfortunately, it just 'clicks' as if the battery is dead despite all that.Any suggestions on a good way to troubleshoot this problem? of course, the car is also parked in the street in front of my house so it's in a pretty lousy place to work on. Kinda figures, huh?? :-(

Thanks very much!Randy

check your connections on the battery terminals and if possible on the other ends of the cables. It sounds like you possibly have a loose connection.

Thanks for your help. I did remove and clean the connections with no change in the problem. I ended up replacing the battery last night and that seems to have solved the problem. Unfortunately I didn't have a load meter to test this earlier because it was showing fully charged on the battery charger.
