Hello. I have a 98 Q45 with the stock Bose system. The radio will no longer power on when the volume button is pressed in. I got another working original Bose head unit (same exact one) from ebay and that one will not power up either, so the HU is most likely fine.
I have a 12V signal on the main plug going to the radio. If anyone knows any other areas to investigate why I am having problems, your help would be greatly appreciated.

As far as power goes, you need 12 volts constant and 12 volts switch to power up the radio. You will need to check for both of those. I can only assume you checked the fuses first!?!

Yes, all fuses are fine inside the car. Could it be a relay deal under the hood?

Did you check for constant power, switch power and ground at the back of the radio? If you have all three of those at the back of the radio then you have a bad radio. This is the only way to test the radio properly..... so you will have to unbolt it from the dash and test it.
