What is that black plastic piece that sits between the bottom left/right parts of the water pump and the engine? I only have one of them.

As far as I can tell, it looks like a seal between the oil pump housing and the water pump. There should be two of them. This doesn't look like a critical part. Perhaps a rubber hose of the same diameter or just a bead of RTV silicone sealant would serve well enough as a substitute. The diagram labels them as seals but the they’re also labeled as grommets so I found a nail of appropriate diameter, cut it down to length, and covered it in RTV to seal on all sides and I’m crossing my fingers that it works. We’ll see.
