98 pathfinder trans Problem Code P0744

Car: 1998 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4

Ok so the transmission doesnt like to shift into gears now.the check engine light came on and it came up as p0744 torque convertor!

anybody ever have this happen?maybe it just a solenoid?

(98 pathfinder,4x4,auto,168k)

just doing some research on here...it sounds like what yor guys call "Flaring".but its to the point where it wont shift into 4th and almost purly rev in 3rd.
