98 pathfinder steering issue

Hi,

I have an issue with my steering wheel that no one seems to know wwhat the problem is. When the wheels are straight the steerign wheel is level however when i turn to the left and then go straight again, the steering wheel is cocked 90 degrees to the left. It goes back to being level when i turn right again but Im having trouble figuring out what exactly could cause that. Is something slipping? perhaps something dealing with the rack and pinion?? Thanks.
