98 PATHFINDER NO START neutral safety switch?

Hi all,

My pathfinder stopped starting a couple weeks back and i can't figure out quite what is wrong yet. All i get is a single click it will not turn over. Since then i have done the following without any luck.
Specs-
1998 pathfinder LE V6 3.3L
-installed new battery
-installed new starter

All lights work on the dash and headlights work as well. I have been thinking it may be the neutral safety switch, although it doesn't start in neutral nor park.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Get the FSM. It should have a procedure to follow when it won't crank.

BTW, you could have eliminated the battery as the problem by trying a jump start.

You could have eliminated the starter by checking to see if you got voltage to the solinoid coil when you turn the key, and then checking whether the solinoid provided voltage to the starter when you turn the key.

Will they start in neutral? I thought they were only supposed to start in Park.
