1998 Pathfinder SE

Just replaced the climate control panel (fan/temp/position) for 2 reasons:

a. the fan knob was broken offb. the fan was constantly on HIGH

well after replacing it, the fan is continuously on HIGH (no matter if its on OFF, AUTO, I, II, or III.

Ive been reading up on the amplifier behind the glove box but i dont think its that....any fuses/relays or anything that can be a problem?

any info would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

chris

It does sound like your issue is the fan resistors. It sounds like you have the manual style HVAC controls (three dials) and the fan speed is dictated by a set of resistors. There is a different resistor for each fan speed and it looks like the resistors have failed, causing the HVAC to always be on high. If you read through the following thread you can see where I explain how to replace the fan resistors.

It's on the second page of the thread about halfway down.
