I recently had my blower quit working. Before it quit working for a few months prior I would have to turn the fan all the way to the highest setting to get it to come on, then could turn it back down or set the climate control just fine. Eventually it just quit coming on. I did some research and discovered the issue seemed to be with the blower motor amplifier. I found one at a junkyard and put it in. Everything worked great. Then I turned the car off, came back to it about an hr later and had no blower once again. I did some more research and found that the thermal fuse on the circuit board of the amplifier had been blown. I replaced the thermal fuse, and also put in another blower motor just in case mine was acting up and possibly causing the thermal fuse to blow (motor was from the junkyard not new). I checked the motor to make sure it spun freely and did not appear to be bound at all. Hooked everything up and it all worked great. Then I parked the car and came back to it about an hr later and no blower once again. The weirdest thing to me is that it never quits working during operation. It is always after I turn the car off and back on. I wasn't able to pull an amperage reading on the motor with my multimeter, but I suppose both motors I've tried since they are both used could be somewhat faulty and possibly pulling too many amps? Not sure. It just doesn't seem likely to me, but I can't think of any other reason this thermal fuse keeps going bad and that it happens after the car is off and not during operation. Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated! This car is nowhere near worth the money that I'm sure the dealer would charge to troubleshoot all of this! Thanks again for any help!
