1998 Nissan Maxima SE wont start?!

1998 Nissan Maxima SE wont start?!
I got into my car this morning and started it. Within two seconds, it died. I repeated this step two more times and the same thing happened each time. Then I pulled the key out and tried again and it would just turn over. Now all it does is turn over. Can someone please help me figure out what is going on!?

Is the red security light on?
If so it might be a bad key (is the security chip intact?)
If the key is good I would look towards a mass airflow sensor, or crank position sensor.

Yea the red security light stays on. Does that mean it is bad? It does not go off. My husband mentioned that but i did not know that was possible...

Do you have a spare key to try? I wouldn't think it would start for 2 seconds and then die with a bad key... but I'm not sure about all this new-fangled crap.
