ok, so I was looking at air intakes. I was looking at the Injen and the Frankencar, the Frankencar caught my eye because It has everything I need included, and they give you a choice of filter/choice of colors for the intake tube.

I know the Injen is a Cold Air Intake, and about 2x the price of the Frankencar.

How are the sounds from the Frankencar? Easy install from what It looks like from the website, and It has everything for the MAF to be installed onto it.

I found some website and they claim the APEXI Filter is the best, but I hear great stuff about the K&N family of products.

any reccomendations would be great, because I don't think $160 is bad for that.. they claim it does 8-12HP gains after installing this, and has a bassy deep growl, just what Im looking for.

Any opinions helpful as I will be also adding a exhaust system soon as well, because Its pretty bitched up

well I just found the Cosmo Racing intakes.. they claim 7-10HP gains from their Cold Air Intake and its almost "too cheap" but what do you people think about them?

yeah, I live in Pennsylvania. Smack dab in the middle of Amish Central (No, Im not Amish) I liked the Cosmo Racing intake, it just boggled my mind why It was a fraction of the price against the others. Mmmm

We get some nasty winters now and then, and our share of typhoons as well. I guess Id have to get one of them bypass valves to prevent that, or grab the Short Ram, but I heard Short Ram Intakes aren't so great. Then again Im sitting on a automatic transmission, just looking for a nasty growl and a little performance boost.

the site basically just says the only difference between the SRI and the CAI is the air It pulls, and the 2HP +/- change between the two. Anyone have a Cosmo SRI? How's it sound, throttle response like they promise?

honestly i think all intakes sound the same. and the bypass thing doesnt really work that well unless the whole filter is submerged. better off just getting k&n drop-in and removing the resonator.

get this one. it may be a little pricy, but you will not regret it one bit! i ran the injen tech for 2.5 years, and wish i would have had the cattman one all along. my only recommendation is that you need to put an AEM dryflow filter on it.

ok, well I guess I should wait and see how much the shop is going to charge to fix that rattling from hell in my front end.

Thanks for the input guys.. I'll end up getting a Cold Air Intake of sorts, even though they don't make them bypass peices for any of the intakes I looked at.

$215 for black and $220 for silver

but the Cosmo is like $65/$95 and the Injen is like $300

FrankenCar is $230 with the Apexi Filter

just measure the pipe and order a bypass with the size you need. then hack off a piece of the pipe and install it. if you need one i might have one in the basement.
