I got in the car this morning and it would start for about three seconds and then stop. Then i repeated that two more times with the same result. I tried one more time and it would just turn over. So I pulled the key out and tried again and it turned over and started for three seconds again. any conclusions on what it is?

I'd check the fuel pressure. I'd also try to pull the codes to see if any are active.

Turn ignition switch to ON (do not start) and listen for the fuel pump. It's located behind the rear pax seat. It should run (and hum) for @ 5 seconds then shut down. If it doesn't run or is noisy, it could be failing. When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter (located on firewall, beside brake booster)? It could be clogged, restricting fuel flow to the engine. If the filter is good (you should be able to blow thru it with little resistance), then just like the suggestion of 'maxhopper' you need a T-fitting of a Fuel Pressure Gauge between the fuel filter and fuel rail. Check fuel delivery - 34 PSI with engine running,, 43 PSI with engine OFF, Ignition ON but limited to 5 seconds. You can probably rent the gauge (may be free from Autozone) or buy one (@ $20).

Make sure you empty the fuel line before breaking it by pulling out the Fuel Pump fuse and running the engine until it dies, then crank a couple times more. Otherwise, it's a FIRE HAZARD.
