Turn ignition switch to ON (do not start) and listen for the fuel pump. It's located behind the rear pax seat. It should run (and hum) for @ 5 seconds then shut down. If it doesn't run or is noisy, it could be failing. When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter (located on firewall, beside brake booster)? It could be clogged, restricting fuel flow to the engine. If the filter is good (you should be able to blow thru it with little resistance), then just like the suggestion of 'maxhopper' you need a T-fitting of a Fuel Pressure Gauge between the fuel filter and fuel rail. Check fuel delivery - 34 PSI with engine running,, 43 PSI with engine OFF, Ignition ON but limited to 5 seconds. You can probably rent the gauge (may be free from Autozone) or buy one (@ $20).
Make sure you empty the fuel line before breaking it by pulling out the Fuel Pump fuse and running the engine until it dies, then crank a couple times more. Otherwise, it's a FIRE HAZARD.
