to save me all the headaches i really want to make sure i can pass smog. can someone confirm this.

i will be swapping my 95 ecu, 95 intake manifold into my 98 ka24de motor to make sure that i can pass smog. is there anything i should know before i do the swap. thanks! btw my car is obII (i have two oxygen sensors) so it should be a one day swap hopefully.

i posted something similar to this 2months back but got confusing responses

Im pretty sure you should have no problems as long as you swap over all the parts you mentioned. Ive swapped a 95 motor into a 92 and was able to pass smog. Your swap should be pretty straight forward, although I honestly cant say for sure. From what i can recall all the plugs and what not match up. Hopefully someone else can be of more help.

You should have no problem passing emissions as long as you keep all the 95 emission components.

Both blocks are basically the same.

If you carry everything over from the 98 to your 95, you can also get it verified by the BAR ref and get a nice new green colored VIN plate. It's up to you on that one since you've got an odbII car and all but yeah.

While the engine is out, be sure to clean up the EGR /pipes/replace hoses. Our cars have a "high emissions" profile in CA and usually the KA will fail with NOx.
