98 i30..replaced third brake light bulb (middle one) but it wont turn on

hi..i just replaced the replaced third brake light bulb (middle one) but it wont turn on in my 98 i30. when i turn on lights, the rear brake lights do come up fine and the light inside trunk is also turning on. i made sure the new light fits in. seems to be of same size as OEM. i double checked if i wasn't putting the white power clip/wire back in right..it does click when i push it in. what could be going on?

even tail light brakes are not turning on when i press on brake. could it be fuse?

There is a hole for a plastic plug to bump against the brake switch
I used a magnet to fix mine

thanks for your reply. turns out that the stop lamp switch is not functioning right. i put some wd40 to loosen it up. hopefully it releases when pedal is pushed. it seems to work now.

did you put the magnet to iron pedal bar? that is interesting.
