Would a bad TPS cause hesitation when accelerating?

Here is what my car has been doing: when I accelerate from a complete stop the car does fine until about 35-40mph, then it seems to be bogged down until it get close to 50mph. After that it does fine all the way up to freeway speeds. It only seems to happen when I'm accelerating at a normal pace, if I floor it there are no issues. Also, sometimes when I'm on the freeway and need accelerate to pass, she hesitates for a second then goes.

About a month after buying the car the cel light came on, took the car to get the codes read and it showed the codes for TPS. I decided to try cleaning all the connections before buying new parts, problem went away. Now the cel is back with the same codes.

No way around buying a new one this time. My big question is would this be causing my problems or should I be looking elsewhere for the problem? I suspected the transmission might be the problem but when I did a fluid and filter change, the fluid was in excellent condition (not burnt or discolored at all), so I put that idea towards the back of the list of what it could be (still very well could be my problem, the car does have just over 190K).

Full tune up was just recently done including fuel filter. The only thing I havent done is change the coil packs.

Anybody have similar issues or thoughts

Jason

Ok now I'm confused. I stopped by Autozone and had them run the codes again just to see if anything changed. Now I get codes P0330 which is knock sensor, P0325 which is also knock sensor, and P1320 which is ignition signal, primary circuit intermittent, but no TPS code. I would guess that the P1320 code is causing the knock sensors codes to come up.

We warn used buyers to expect to spend [very quickly] anywhere between $1,000 and $3,000 to correct defects which caused the vehicle to be for sale.
Previous owners skip many things before finally selling a vehicle.
12 years of mild or major mainteances and repairs is the question not just new junk tires or a battery and lots of detailing and spray silicone polish!

Why we recommend every vehicle have a 1-2 hour examination by an EXPERT on that model and year to see what they are trying to pass off to unsuspecting buyer.

Knock sensors are almost always skipped because they $500-$1,000.
The underhood spray solvent CLEAN UP PROCESS can create circuit intermitents that show up after a few weeks/months.

Pay the expert to find and list how much you owe that you didn't know.

The knock sensors are surely causing some of your issues... When the KS go bad the car retards the timing, effectively reducing power significantly.
