My 98 alt developed a quarter size rust hole in the front cross member.The one right behind the grill. Is this common. Any one else have it?Whats the easiest fix.Also the ol' girl has an evap (code 1440) leak. Its not the gas cap.Where else do these cars go bad in the evap system?Thanks in advance for your helpToby in PA

my front cross member 98 altima gxe is gone. rusted almost all the way across. its really ocmmon for this year i've seen in almost every altima. i not longer have a hood latch but jsut hood pins. ugh.. fix it and make sure it doesnt get worse cuz it will. the same with the code (1440) i've had that come up several times but it disappears i havnt figured it out hwere it is.. much rust near the gas tank keep looking.
