This is not discussed anywhere in any detail in these forums. All search functions bring up info pertenant to the B13 chassis up to 95 model years. The OBD2 Chassis (96-99) are not really discussed. I want to make it clear, that I'm talking about a GA16 originally equipped chassis!! Anyhow, I will elaborate on this swap as I am currently doing one for a client, 98 model to be exact! In January I have a 1997 Sentra schedualled along w/ a auto-to- manual conversion.Anyone can chime in at anytime. Mucho Appreciated.

Same process as given for a B13 in the sticky on the Sentra Gen page. The easiest way to deal with OBDII is to not deal with it, so convert to OBDI.

Any idea on anyone making a conversion harness( OBD2-OBD1)? I'd preffer not hacking this brand new harness. JWT Is 5 weeks out on re-mapping, they can do the 95-96 OBD2 ECU GA or SR, But nothing 97-99. I just need this car to roll outta the shop until I can get the correct OBD2 Ecu allocated and mapped. OBD2, not as easy to find as OBD1. Just gonna run OEM ECU w/ AFC and stock boost till the mapping is done, for fear of ignition timing issues then BOOM!!. Thanx for ur 2 cents.

No one makes a conversion harness, sadly.

If you're just running it til you get a new ECU from JWT, you'll still need a B14 SR ECU. Do not try to run the GA ECU. (I can't tell if you were implying that, so I figured I'd be safe and warn you.) Tune it well and you're set, run the B14 SR ECU + AFC all day long, it won't be an issue as long as you're not trying to pass emissions yet. I think you'll be code city with a USDM ECU.

No, I was not attempting to imply I would even consider using the GA ECU.The only concerns w/ a US ECU is the MIL for emissiona related stuff. I have had numorous problems w/ the Nissan SUV and Pick-up's in the past, for service related repairs... I like OBD2 Myself, because I understand how it works, and have the scanning and monitoring tools. Unless you have a datalogger your lost w/ most Japanese OBD1 cars, other than emitting codes form a MIL.My plan is to run the 98 US SR ECU w/ an AFC maybe throw the ITC in there as well? Customer did not expect the extra expenses and neither did I? I personally (as a shop) have done 3 NX2k (B13) swaps in the past as well as numorous 240's... This is my first of the B14 chassis, and I have another to do as well in january.I am going to document this swap as I have for numorous others in the past. I also Imported several Hybrid brand FMIC Kits, they are for ther GTIR chassis, but I'll fab them up. I'll post some photo's for all to enjoy as the project continues.

Yeah, you'll be throwing codes with a US ECU. My idea was that if you're not pressed to make this thing pass emissions for awhile, you can give it to the customer while awaiting the arrival of the JWT ECU. You'll be safe as long as you're careful with the AFC's tuning.

I think that's the only option you've got here.

Sorry for the confusion in the earlier posts. We've had a rash of new people dropping in saying they're doing X swap without knowing what's involved. You've got a good handle on everything.
