I have an ACT Extreme pressure plate, and street disc with a Fidanza aluminum flywheel that has about 45000 miles on it now, and it's starting to slip just when I hit the gas pretty hard. It engages and disengages just fine, so I think it needs the clutch disc. My question is could I just replace the disc, and reuse the Extreme pressure plate, or do I need to replace the whole works again?

UPDATE: I took my 240sx to my friend Carl's garage which has a post lift, and after pulling the transmission, I found out that the rear oil pan gasket sprung a leak, and made a huge mess in my transmission/clutch. This time I got the ACT Extreme 6puck set. It took longer to clean the transmission than the rest of the job took(the lift made it simple). For the first 2 weeks, I had to give the car ahead of me a 30' head start to avoid launching into them, scalding my new tires. I thought I made the wrong choice with the 6 puck for street driving, but now that it's broken in, it's still a little wicked, but I love it with the Fidanza aluminum flywheel, it is a rocket and is very fun to drive. I definitely need a turbo kit now. The old clutch would have still had lots of life left if it wasnt oil soaked. I would recommend both the ACT xtss, and the xtg6 sets. They both make a huge difference in power. Just plan on going threw rear tires very quickly! Imagehttps://forum-attachments.sfo2.digital ... G_0676.jpg[/img]ImageImageImage

A couple more pics.ImageImage . It took Carl Hite and I 12 hours to do the swap ,along with putting a short shifter in, and fixing the pan gasket. We started at 9:00am, and finished about 9:00 pm, and I drove it home that night. Carl's '66 Corvette w/original 427 is hidden behind his hand in the back of his garage. He bought it when he was 16, it only has 17000 miles  .

Great clutch - I have the same one. The springs make it much more streetable vs an unsprung 6 puck one - which is like having an on/off switch. Your comment about letting cars in front get far enough away is so true. I used to warn new stiff clutch customers about that!

Yep, it still squeals tire at about 95% of the time when I try to pull out, and the other 5% I almost stall it, but I'm used to it. I can chirp all five gears with the 6 puck, but the xtss had good power, too. It was almost as wicked when it was new.
