Gotta replace the front and rear shocks. Want a nice, smooth ride, just like when it was brand new. Comfort is important. Should I go to the dealership and get the original equipment (hey, what brand is that anyway) or should I go with something like Bilstein, KYB, or KONI.

I'm not looking for a teeth clattering harsh ride, just a nice relatively smooth ride, excellent in corners and turns well.

What online sources have you guys used. I don't mind paying for decent quality, the car has 120,000 miles - and I've owned it since new.Completely stock...no modifications. Also, do it need to replace the strut mounts at the same time. Help.

KYB GR2s will do just fine . AGX are great too but a lot more expensive . For sure dont go to the dealer or if you do get parts from ebay or some other place. dealer will charge you over 400 for set of struts. Koni is ****ing awesome but they wont provide ride quality and price you are looking for.

but seriosly if you are that consearned with ride quality maybe you shouldn't be driving an S14? i dont think there is a mid ground between performance and comfort...either one or the other.i like my car stiff and i got ppl bitching at its ride all the time...so they end up getting yelled at and then have to choose between walking or shutting the **** up and riding with me. Surprisingly they choose to stay

Great reply....I appreciate the excellent info - You are right on the money about the KYB's. I found a seller on ebay that has them at a good price.Ordering them tomorrow. Going with the more expensive version.

Your smack is good...hey my girlfried keeps trying to get me to sell my ride, for an SUV. Not way...I don't care if I am the only 49 year old school dude with a Super Black S-15, but damn those shocks have gotta go. Now...where the hell is my walking stick.

no problem. just keep in mind that with AGX you have to have them set on lowest setting to get softerst ride.
