I really need to change the front and rear shocks on my 98 - 240 SX.Should I go to the Nissan dealer and buy the OE brand (?) What type of OE shocks come on the car.Should I get KYB, or KONI. If so, which ones will work.

The car is a daily driver - 5 speed - Completely stock - No Modifications whatsoever. I want a nice, quiet, comfortable ride. Well...relatively comfortable for a 240 SX!

I just don't want to have something installed that's going to make the car ride more harsh, or cause more noise that I have, or handle really weird. Not race car stuff! What can I expect to pay...best online source for purchase. HELP!!!

Well, the best bang for the buck in my opinion is going to be KYB GR2's if everything is stock and you're planning on leaving the stock spring in for a while. You won't have to mess with adjustability, and it should give a comfortable ride. The best quality out of those would be the Koni's, but it's almost not worth it seeing as you're completely stock, and you'd end up paying more than I think you'd want to.

As far as OE goes, I don't know the brand, but I would think that buying new KYB's would end up being cheaper than buying new OE ones from the dealership.

KYB would be the best answer for you. The ride will be a little more firm than stock with the KYB. If you go to the dealer to buy shocks you will pay quite a lot of money. Koni is just expensive and of no use on a stock car.

Thanks guys. Great replys. I'm going with the KYB's. Found a great seller on Ebay with a price that's too good to pass up.Thanks a million for the feedback.
