This is driving me nuts...The starter won't turn over unless I depress (stomp) the clutch to the floor 10 - 15 times. Then the "starter" will turn over and start the engine.

There has to be some kind of faulty switch that allows the car to start only when the clutch is fully depressed.

On my car, this switch does not seem to know that the clutch is fully depressed, unless I "stomp" it many many times.

What's the fix for this problem...what's it gonna cost me.

check the switch with a multimeter, make sure it is closing when it is pressed

where is the switch located. What does it look like. I know nothing about his kind of stuff.

Apparently, it is called a clutch interlock switch. It's a real pain in the ***.

look at the clutch, there is a switch that is pushed when the clutch is pressed down, if you press the clutch you will see it. its a small black box with a little rod sticking out of it. the rod is the part that is pushed.

How about just bypassing the switch altogether? Just make sure it's not in gear when you start it

thats probably what i would do. if the circuit is closed when the button is pushed like navysnail said, then you can cut the switch out, connect the two wires and call it a day. or if you want to be safer than that, just find a switch at a store and just flick it on when you need to start.
