Why is it necessary to set the TPS voltage to around .45 volts instead .50 volts? I saw where Q45tech say you should not set the tps voltages above .45. The spec say .35 - .65. What kinds of symptoms should one expect to see if the voltage is near or a little over .5.

Thanks

0.44-0.45 is the midrange number. It gives you some leeway in both directions in case the TPS were to move. A while back I spoke with the senior mechanic at the shop I take my Q to and he agreed with what you're saying in that since the adjustments are by hand the exact voltage may not be attainable and a small deviation in voltage in either direction will not even be noticeable. He did recommend setting the voltage as close to midrange as possible.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is .45V truly the mid range number or is there some special action the automobile responds to when the hot idle is near this voltage (.45V)?
According to my calculations the mid ranges would be .5 volts. The difference in the spec voltage is .30 volts, divide it in half and add the a half to the low end and subtract from the high end. So thats why i was thinking that the .45 range has some special meaning....maybe not according to the senior mechanic.

Thanks
