I have a squeaking problem with a 97Q (89k miles). Everytime I go over bumps in the road, I hear a sharp squeak/squeal. Its just plain annoying.

Everyone with a FY33 - think its the struct mounts or the tension rod bushings. Will tension rod bushing make a squeal/squeak sound? Thanks

Any suggestions guys???

I know that my tension rod bushings are bad... they seem to be leaking silicone - not too bad. But do you think this is the cause or its the strut mounts?

I know you guys who have fy33 must have experienced this - any thoughts would be great!!

Sorry to hear it man!My OldLady (97 Y33) never had this problem. However, I would suggest to check suspension on an alignment rack while suspension is under its normal load. Rock front end vigorously up and down while on the rack and check where the sound is comming from!It could be numer of things. Hard to pinpoint it over the Net! Cheers!

I tell you what, and it could be a long shot for you, but my car had this annoying as hell squeak somewhere in the front area. After replacing just about every suspension part, it still did it.

It was the Gddamned hood latch!! One day, I shut the door after getting out and I heard it, so I opened and closed the door, until I isolated the sound, I closed the door with hood open, no squeak. I put a bunch of grease on the latch and it hasn't squeaked in almost a year now. Worth a shot anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll definitely try that out! The sound does come from the front of the car - I cant seem to isolate it. Its annoying. I'll give it a shot and report back.

YOU ARE A GENIUS BRO!!!!!!! Goddam hood latch... unreal.... all this and I was thinking the suspension is screwed.

I greased it up and some WD40 - no more squeaking

I'm sure everyone who has a FY33 must have experienced this problem ... and its annoying as hell. Very simple fix - less than 1 minute
