hello all. rebuilt a lot of my 97 and she is running good and back on road. working on emissions now. 1 code, 1445. replaced the vent control valve before I ripped truck apart and noticed that, like usual, the canister cracked a bit. forgot about that til now. 2 questions..

1. is there any way I can possibly band aid the can to get thru inspection until I buy a new one? not sure about using plastic epoxy right where I need to screw the valve down.. in case valve doesn't feel like coming back up.

2. the part # for my canister is tennex 14950 1s718. there is numerous parts numbers for the canisters but I cant seem to find any information about comparisons between them all. the only big difference I noticed is how the valve seets to the canister. one style has an oring on the outside that seets to the valve, other style (my stile) has an o ring on the valve that seets a bit down into the canister. some of the canisters it says I can pull from frontiers but other info said no... hence my post (if anyone has any info that is)

Couple quick questions - what engine - 2wd or 4x4. Which canister? Are you talking about the canister under the truck Or the purge control valve located In the engine compartment? Could also have an issue with a solenoid valve. If your looking for quick fix - Instead of using plastic epoxy you might try using a hot glue gun. This will allow you to have a plan B in case the original plan fails. Make sure the hoses that run between the canisters aren't restricted .
