97 sentra, minor problems

Hi, I'm new here. We've had this sentra since it was new, and can't complain. the front main seal went out about 6 months ago, but other than that no major problems. When you slow down the back brakes grab, and make sort of a clunking sound, and when you're stopped and let go of the brakes it's almost like they get stuck for a second.. and then release. (really annoying) It started doing this after alot of parking brake pullin' from when I was in high school lol. The only other issue I'm having is when you're idling through a parking lot it surges like the a/c is on. doesn't do it in park or neutral that i've noticed. I'm thinking I'll take the iac valve out and clean it and the throttle body in general. It's really aggravatin when you're turning into a tight parking spot and about the time your nose is pointed directly at someone's shiny back bumper your car decides to idle up lol. Any input on either issue? I hate drum brakes, and don't know too much about em. thanks for any help

Could be an issue with the ebrake cable.

Cleaning the IAC and TB may help with the surging. It could also be a transmission issue.
