Ive had this car going on 2 weeks now, the only thing ive done is install a cd player which i did have some trouble with but i THINK its not the issue. When i installed the cd player i blew some fuses, car wouldnt start unless being jumped off. so had had it running through jumper cables on my other car and the ohm meter said the battery was at 12.8v-13v. so i tested and replaced every fuse that didnt put out at least that, under the dash and in the engine bay. so now the car runs perfectly and all fuses are good, the car runs normally....but, every few days it seems like, i will be either at a red light or in a parking spot just idling, usually i have ac on, some times headlights (HID's btw), the car will lose electrical power like the ac will stop blowing as hard, the cd player will stop playing but remain on, dash lights will dim but stay on, head lights will flicker but stay on, and then i will rev up the engine and at almost exactly 3k rpms it the entire car will kick back on, like ac blowing harder again, dash lights bright again, cd player playing again, and head lights bright again. Im thinking either alternator or something. Just really need to figure this out. ive had to get jumped off twice already, if i let the car stay in that "gimp mode" for too long the car will not restart again. please any input is greatly appreciated . thanks

Pull the altinator and take it to the auto parts store ofd your choice. Most all of them will test it for free.

My bet is that when you had your wiring issues you ended up takeing out the regulator which is internal to the altinator.

Or you haven't fixed all your wiring issues yet.

Or worst choice, both.

Start by testing the altanator

seems to be doing it more now, like everytime i drive it, basically what it SEEMS like to me is that when i sit in the car and crank it up, it will idle fine but when i rev to 3k everything gets brighter(and stays bright until i turn it off), so im think that the alternator isnt charging my batt untill i rev up. but once i do that its fine until i turn off and back on.

check all of the wires at your positive batt terminal for corrosion or just loose, my 95 had that same problem and the wires from the fuse box to the terminal had corrosion inside the copper windings creating a point of high resistance. the car would start just fine but the lights and internal illumination wouldn't work and i didn't have turn signals either! good luck also check and scuff all of your major ground points!

ok i'll check as soon as i can, but now im pretty positive that the battery isnt getting a proper charge or getting any charge until it gets reved to 3k. but once i do that its all normal. so im thinkng that what you said may be the issue. i'll keep you guys posted.

just to verify this im going to start the car and check the volts or w/e on the battery before i rev to 3k, then check it after and see the difference, i think that will give me a better idea as to whats goin on. ill let yall know what happens.
