ok my car is throwing this code, and im desperately raping the internet trying to find an answer. all i found is that some nissan trucks get this code, but nothing on if its a part i should replace, or anything about said part. again its a 1997 s14 ka24de, was an auto converted to 5spd, ecu is auto, if it helps. thanks

There is a fuel temperature sensor located on the sending-fuel pump unit .It compares the fuel temp with the ECT sensor and the IAT sensor. If it is out of spec it will set that code.

According to my source, you should be able to get the sensor by itself.

I can't find a part number for it.You might want to call Courtesy and see if they can dig it up.My gut feeling is that you will probably have to buy the sending unit itself.

You can get the sending unit separately from the pump, but if you want to upgrade the pump now would be the time to do it.

f*** man, ok maybe im a moron, but i just tried to replace the fuel sender unit, and i could not get the old one off of the clip in the tank, i could feel the clip but no matter which way i moved it the sender unit wouldnt come off, not to mention i did it with a half a tank of gas lol, i knew that was gonna suck, now my arm is stinging lol. so ill give it another try when im low on gas. but is there any picture of how that clip works? if removing it is this hard, putting the new one on blind has to suck. any more input would be awesome thanks.

The only thing i can come up with is a funky drawing that shows nothing of help.Get your fuel level lower and you may be able to get a look at it with a flashlight.

ok, i replaced the fuel sender unit, connected everything up, and the code is till there, im starting to think that the code is there due to the 5spd swap, im still running the auto ecu, any input on that idea?

That shouldn't be an issue. It possibly could be a bad ECM. Did you clear the codes out?

hmm maybe, do you know if there are any other sensors that will make the "fuel temp sensor "A" ckt malfunction" throw a code? i was reading somewhere that said that this code could sometimes be the coolant temp sensor on some nissans. have you heard that? also i am looking for a 97 s40sx ecu 5spd, to clear the old auto transmission codes.
