97' s14 auto trans and DOHC into s13 chassis

I am looking at buying a pignose coupe for an excellent price. The car was originally an automatic but has had the motor and transmission pulled. I believe all wiring is still intact. I have a complete driveline/partscar that is a 97 automatic. Can I put the entire driveline into the s13? I have seen info on DOHC into SOHC. I can't find anything on the s14 DOHC AND the automatic transmission. I know I can 5 speed swap and prob save some trouble. I have 5 speed swapped my other kouki. I would prefer to just keep this one auto for now if I can use my existing parts rather than buying more. Also if use my s14 complete wiring harness is it possible to just replace the entire s13 engine/transmission harness and still have the rest of the cars functions work? I am talking about headlights , signals, gauges, fan? :confused:

Sorry for long post. I have never messed with generation differences on the nissans. If it were a civic I would prob know the answer. :couch

What I'd do for simpleness.

Put S13 intake mani and distributor on.
Use full S13 harness and ECU
Find free S13 AT and swap it over (may be able to use the S14 AT, but believe there are differences in sensors/connections, so would have to swap them to match harness).

Believe you may need an S13 AT driveshaft (and/or the S14 AT transmission may have a metal insert that needs to be removed from the back of the transmission).
I do assume all the other AT stuff is same from S14 to S13 (shifter, etc). If not I have an S13 AT shifter you can have.

If trying to use the S14 ecu/harness could be just issues with dash plug. Don't think I've ever seen S14 KA harnees/ECU in S13.

That is kind of what I was thinking. If I can find an s13 auto for free I will go that route. I have an s14 and an s13 auto driveshaft laying around. The auto shifter is in the car I believe. I may just go ahead and 5 speed swap it just for ease. When I did mine the bigest pain was the top bolts of motor to transmission and the clutch pedal because it was hard to drill with motor in the way. And the interior didn't have the easy guides like the s13 does. I could prob scrounge up the parts to swap it for well under 500

Yeah, you can find the 5 speed stuff pretty easily right now. I have a few things laying around.

Right now I know of clutch MC, slave and hardline, and a stock shifter.

Actually have a '92 in the pullapart near me that has everything, depending on how far away you are/what you want.

I am in Springfield, MO. Let me do a little more checking into stuff but there is a good chance if I go the 5speed route I will hit you up on basically everything except the transmission. Unless I can track it down local.

Ok, just let me know, PM or email is the easiest way to make sure I see it.

The clutch hardline would be a pain (and expensive to ship), so you should look for that locally.

right on! I used the braided stainless line on my s14 seems to work pretty well.
