* Completely stalls intermintenlty about 1 out of 30 starts
* Idle goes really low and flutters on start but recovers about 1 out of 5 starts.
* About 4 out of 5 starts are "ok"
* When sitting in idle (whether in gear or not) the car seems to bump a very very tiny bit, not enough for an irregular driver to notice it.
* Car runs perfectly when driving along, no hiccups or any problem at all.
* I can take car to 120 miles per hour and it'll run quietly and smooth with no hiccups.

Please help, thanks,
Chris

Problem could be with Aux Air Control (AAC) Valve, dirty EGR Valve/port, or fuel delivery (fuel pump, filter, fuel pressure regulator). When was the fuel filter (RH rear wheel well) replaced?

Check and clean air intake components - check/replace air filter, clean MAF sensor (CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner will do) and Throttle Body (do not spray carb cleaner directly, use rag). The clean the AAC valve and EGR valve and related ports.

Add a bottle or 2 of Redline SI-1 Fuel System Cleaner in a tank of gas. Others have also used BG44K Fuel System Cleaner.

The problem was the Mass Air Flow Sensor.
I took out the piece of crap MAF that I bought on ebay for $99 & replaced it with a BRAND NEW one I purchased from BOSCH and WOW!, PERFECT! I love BOSCH!

I think Manufacturer/Dealer Parts are great but BOSCH is one of the only manufacturers that I trust to deliver super quality parts as good or BETTER than the dealer!

Bosch isn't bad but don't drop any of their spark plugs in there, your Infiniti (or Nissan) will not like them.

True, I've had such good success with 99.99% of BOSCH's other parts that I forgot about their spark plug drama. Although for all you know they probably make a spark plug that's fantastic now but who's gonna waste their time experimenting with an established failure.

My 97 was doing the same. Noticed a little bogging and gas mileage wasn't the best. Wasn't throwing any codes at all. Checked everything connectors, coils, spark pulgs, cleaned the maf nothing helpped. Swapped the maf for a slightly used oem one off ebay and it fixed the problem. Runs like it just rolled off the dealer lot.

Wow! This is an old thread that you have resurrected. But I'm glad replacing the MAF sensor fixed it. Yes, from my experience, a dirty/failing MAF sensor will not throw a code unless it's an open circuit or dead short. And voltage measurement with DVM is inconclusive. You need an oscilloscope (expensive) for better result.

Agreed. What you would look for is voltage spikes. A VOM will get you close but probably doesn't have the resolution needed.
