I have a 97 Infiniti and I am preparing to start getting it to max performance does any one know if I could put a 2jz tge engine in my car and will I need to upgrade my transmission ? And if you have any insight on what else I should do please do so

Or would it be better to get a 94 q45 and mod it ?

Hey, welcome to the Forums! A 2JZ or an LS1 pretty much fit into everything. The best car to mod is the one a person already owns, in my opinion. What do you want to do with your car and what about it doesn't allow you to do that? That seems like a good place to start with your modifications.

What kind of performance? Dyno performance, Db performance, JDM Bozo performance, Drag performance, Drift performance, Grip performance, AutoX, Street Racing, Time Attack, 4th grade annual Christmas performance? The word gets used a lot and the responses could vary greatly.

Do you have the 5 spoke, 17" wheels? I wanted those for my 240sx for a long time.

2JZ is an interesting engine but you'd easily have more into the engine swap than the car itself.

All depends what you want out of it. Honestly you'd probably be easier boosting the stock VH41.. You should be able to get 400HP out of it with no other modifications, the fuel system and drivetrain should be able to handle it just fine. Transmission should be fine too, maybe just need a cooler and a shift kit, which are available pretty easily.

While the VH45/94 Q45 has more power, it also weighs more. The VH41 is still a very capable engine.

Tires are a great performance modification I can recommend to anyone, no matter what their goals may or may not be. Get caught up on your maintenance and repairs. ECU programming sounds good and apparently Elwesso assists with stuff like that.
