couple problems seems when i shift the car into gear there is hesitation and the vehicle preloads very hard, trans fluid is fine. any ideas?also when im at a stop light the car seems to shake every couple of seconds, i have no CEL or rpm drop. i would think odII vehicles would throw a misfire code. any help?

Chances are pretty good that you have at least one dying coil pack with more to follow. The pattern seems to be that the engine will show the symptoms you're having for weeks (to months) before throwing a code (engine misfire P1207??) but it doesn't tell you the cylinder. As it worsens it will eventually throw a code identifying the cylinder, but you could be waiting a long time.

Buying used is a crapshoot but there are members who have them for sale. You can swap in 2 or 4 at a time (same bank) and narrow it down through process of elimination or if money is not tight buy all 8 new and be done with it for 100k miles.

Just think of coil packs as an incremental to the spark plug , something that needs replacing periodically.

The question is not IF but WHEN.

Infiniti needs to install little pop up indicators on the coil packs so that when they fail, they are easily identified. You know, just like the ones on they put on turkeys, or those red flags on the side of your mailbox....or maybe flashing red lights like at a RR crossing. And a bell!

156K on mine so far. My fingers are crossed for the next 50K.

This car has given me zero problems for the last 22 months and 51,000 miles. The best $4400 eBay special I've ever owned. But then again, it's the only car I've ever purchased on eBay so my sample is distorted. Just like my brain.
