OK, getting a bit of an education through some previous posts here. Thank you all who have replied to me on mine and who have shared so much knowledge on other threads...And I think there may be such a thing as too much info lol, as now I have even more questions because of the wealth of info I've found in these forums - regarding lowering springs in particular.

Would love to hear from anybody and everybody with an opinion on the following:

I have found several springs to fit my 97 Q, so I would like to post the options here and would ask folks to give me their opinions and why they feel the way they do. I should preface this by saying that I have new shocks and struts installed now (less than 6 mos old), so not looking to get coilovers and I cannot have a dramatic drop as I live/drive in NYC where roads can be very unforgiving and punishing if you have too low a ride. But by the same token you need good handling here to help get through some ridiculous traffic and bad drivers :bigthumb: :

1. Eibach Pro-Kit, Part # 6345.140 (thought I had a line on these twice in the past week but they turned out to be out of stock. I HAVE found one reliable source now, but they are in Japan and want $377 before tacking on another $120 in shipping charges, which made me look into the rest of these choices. They are also supposed to be for the Nissan Stagea RS Four Wagon, so not sure about fitment. The Part # is the same though);
2. Espelir Springs, Part # ESN149 (this is my leading choice right now as they may be available in the US and I have read some good opinions on them);
3. RS-R Ti2000, Part # not readily handy;
4. RS-R Half-Down (standard, not titanium);
5. GReddy BL Comfort Down (probably the most expensive I have seen out of my choices and probably more for track applications than street);
5. Zoom Down Springs (I know virtually nothing about this company or their products);
6. Tein (I see that they are meant more for the 6 cylinder CIMA and lower than I'd like) ;
7. JIC X-Magic (ride may be too low again?);
8. 5Zigen (more for racing application?)

There may be more and if so, I would appreciate whomever can tell me about them. I am leaning towards Espelirs or RS (the Ti seem to be more available) than anything else. Would Eibach's be worth paying almost $500 for? I doubt it, but again, would love to hear opinions.

Thanks all!

Espilir or Eibach. Also, take that Eibach number to your local Advance Auto Parts. They can either order them PDQ (next day), FDO (Factory Direct Order from Eibach), or Keystone Automotive. If they know what they are doing, they can get you taken care of.

Thank you Mr Tibbs.

I just received an email this AM from Eibach Japan and they told me they are not in production anymore there either and none in stock. I did order a set of Espelirs but I still feel they may be too low. Japanparts.com has the Eibachs and they are pretty much the only ones I have found. I will try Keystone as you suggested...

Thanks again.

Nothing at Advanced Auto Parts and not sure I have the right Keystone. If I do, you need an account just to search!

Well, I am pleased to say that although I really wanted to get my hands on some Eibachs, I had Espelirs installed on Saturday and what a great ride! Handling is fantastic and although the springs are lowering springs with a stiffer rate, the ride is still VERY comfy. I would HIGHLY recommend anybody looking for springs for stock shocks/struts go this route!

This is the supplier that I bought them from. They are going through some price increases now so jump on them while you can! I got mine for $215! http://www.upgrademotoring.com/suspensi ... prings.htm

I also installed a cross slotted/drilled rotor and ceramic pad set from these folks. BEST prices I have seen for quality rotors. The stopping power over stock is huge! http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/irotors/

These are so far the two best upgrades I have installed on this or any car before it. Have some body work and paint to do next and then new shoes!

Happy Motoring!

how far did it drop your car. I have custom summer wheels and I would love to kill some of the 4x4 gap when I put my rims on! Infiniti is the ONLY manufacturer that has this awful wheel gap (atleast 4in) stock! Thanks for the follow up post

It's listed for Nissan Cima, part # ESN149.

It's supposed to drop the front 40-45mm and the rear 35-40. Mine is about 1.25" in front and an 1-1.25 in rear. I believe these springs still need to settle down a bit which will happen in 5-10,000 miles or so and then they are reported to drop up to 1.75" in front and 1.25-1.50" in the rear. They definitely helped lighten the wheel well gap, but more importantly the ride is niiiiice. Stiffer but not BMW stiff. Corners without leaning. Hell, once I get good control arms and bushings in there I think I could drift with my Q! KIDDING of course, but major improvement over stock and not so low that you bottom out just looking at a pot hole which is important to me being in NYC! Gonna get some eurolines when I find a nice clean set to finish her off...

Happy Motoring!
