My 97 Q45 blower motor started clicking, then quick altogether in short order. I took it apart and cleaned and lubed it up, but it still has trouble spinning up all the way.

Can I use a blower motor from a Q45 manufactured after 4/97. I found a decent deal for a used one online. Infiniti online shows a different part for 97 Q45's manu 4/97 and prior, which mine is. I saw a picture of one after 4/97 and it looks the same, except for a plastic housing, instead of a metal one.

Wondering if anyone knows if they are interchangeable.

Thanks, Stan

I can't answer for certain but I would quite surprised if it didn't interchange.

Did you compare the part numbers to be sure that your isn't the same as the one you want to buy?

27220-5P100 is for:Prod.M/Y: 07/96 - 04/97

27220-5P105 is for:Prod.M/Y: 04/97 - 05/97 ---> This part suspersedes to 27220-5P125

I don't know if they interchange, but at least you have the part numbers. If I were to guess, I'd say they are interchangeable, but that's only a guess. Nissan always starts with one part number, then adds another one, and then adds a few more, and then in some cases end up superseding to the latest number. I think the difference is probably the manufacturer, batch or date they were produced.

There are 2 other part numbers also:

27220-5P107 is for:Prod.M/Y: 05/97 - 11/98 ---> This part suspersedes to 27220-5P108

27220-5P108 is for:Prod.M/Y:1198-

--->Part 27220-5P107 has a TSB (ITB99-050B)Counter Measure Part Number 27227-0E002

Update - I ordered a used blower motor from a 99 Q45 and it worked perfectly. Plastic housing, instead of metal, but mount and connections were all the same. I would bet that all the y33 blower motors are interchangeable.

Thanks!

Newer cost optimized motors have a shorter useful life [hours of operation] than the older Q45 units.

Why would you think a used 10 year old [1999] would be a good deal.

The exception is when you can document mileage the used unit came from.

I replaced the fan motor in my 99 AMG C43 last winter which had 120k with one from a wreck with 34k...........so probably it might last another 60-80k?

Important to replace air filter frequently as a dirty restrictive unit will add stress to fan motor........................based on rpm drop with and without filter in place.

Same with dirty AC evap or heater cores, back pressure above brand new design is a bad thing.

But then again fan motors are inexpensive and easy to replace.

The 99Q had 72K on it, compared to 208K on mine. At 1/3 to 1/4 cost of new, seemed like a good tradeoff to me. I need to check the cabin air filter. I've never changed it. Thanks for the reminder.
