97 Q45 belt replacement

is there a thread for this already, if so can someone lead me to it.

im trying to find out how to get to all the belts to replace them. thanks!

You will probably want to take off the fan.. Other than that, its just removing the tensioners (i prefer to remove them because its easier than loosening the tensioners a lot)

overall its a straight forward job, shouldnt have any problems.

cool!!! thanks for the advise.

a friend of mine told me he didnt even take off his fan. so i went ahead and tried to take the belt off over the fan and it definitly doesnt fit around it. so once i take off the fan, ill be able to get to all the belts??

yeah, there's one small belt that just drives the waterpump, and then the water pump pulley drives alt. 4 belts in all.fan removal required on fy33 as Wes stated.

do you guys have a trick to knowing how tight the belts should be. other than the flipping the belt one?

Really I just go with feel.. I like to be able to grab it and have a bit of deflection.

Spec is you should move each belt about .3in with 22lbs of applied force...
