Wow, after 12 years of ownership and 15 years of service my Q has had its first mechanical issue, the passenger window will not roll down. I can feel a sort of engagement but it will not roll down from either drivers side or passenger side switch.

Any ideas what the issue is, I will not DIY it but wondering if it is regulator or motor, which part usually goes?

Try operating the window switches while car is in "drive" at idle with foot on brake with headlamps on to create a load- usually if the window motor is attempting to move, it will put additional voltage demands on alternator showing up as a slight dip in RPMs and slight dimming of headlamps reflected off front garage wall{or better yet, view results of a digital VOM connected at cig lighter if you own one}. If you notice this, it is most likely not the window motor, but the regulator jammed up. { in my experience, the regulators only last 100-150K} How many mikes on car?

Thanks, the regulator is for sure jammed.......Either way they have to take apart the doors which sucks. I have 97k on the car.

the good news is that I am pretty confident Nissan upgraded the replacement regulators construction some time after the initial design was specced, reason I think so is my drivers side original reg failed at 60,000 miles, again at 120,000 miles, and the part installed at 120,000 is still operating at 286,000.......

Personally, I would remove the inner door panel yourself, leave it in your garage before taking the car in for the regulator replacement. No technician is going to be as careful with it as you would be.sometimes a few of the plastic clips will break due to age/brittle plastic....easy and cheap to replace if it happens.Be sure to inspect and reseal the clear plastic door liner before replacing the door panel.

Thanks, appreciate the tips. I luckiliy have a mechanic that knows how picky I am with my car and I know he'll be very careful. Is that part worth ordering from IOS? how much is the part?

Been years sine I last ordered one, they were around $100 for the G50 last time I bought one if I recall correctly. Most likely your local dealer will not have these in stock, so plan ahead!
