I'm new to the site. I just bought a stock '97 Standard Cab Hardbody. 4 Cyl., 5 Speed. I was reading a website somewhere that related to a common problem with a flat spot in between 1,000 and about 2,500 RPM. Was wondering if anyone knew anything about it or is familiar with what I am speaking of. Would appreciate any help.

yeah, that's your low torque band. the truck was made for pulling crap around. hook up a heavy trailer to it, and you'll see what the 1000-2500 range is good for. torque pull. if you want to get more weee out of the ka24e, you need to turbo, or start putting light components on (pistons, flywheels, etc.), or both, and/or increase the lenght of your intake runners, increase your timing, or many things. do some research, this site is huge, and you'll find you can answer damn near 98% of your questions if you look around on the search.hope that helps.
