97 pickup cruise control

Just getting started. I bought a 97 pickup without cruise control. How much of the cruise system is in place? Do I need to purchase the whole enchilada or just the control buttons? Would I be better off with a new aftermarket system or try to find used factory parts from a similar model truck?

This Idiot needs some basic help, so type slow.

the harness should be installed. but you will need the actuator/pump assembly,cruise switchs, and ASCD controller. the switches will include the brake pedal switch,on/off switch,set/cancel switchs,and clutch switch if its manual trans. it should be plug and play
