97 pathy starter problems

hey i got a 97 nissan pathy and the starter is shot,it just happened....and of course im supposed to be going camping this weekend just as it went. none of the stores have one in stock. but i found a second hand 93 starter from a 3.0 v6. just wondering if there is any way i can make this work as the family will be pretty disapointed if we can't go. thanks so much for your help!!
