i bought this truck a year ago, and it shakes violently when i let off the gas slowly and around turns it seems to "shift" over to the right when i apply throttle, im new to the site and couldnt find a seach feature, im sure a problem of this magnitude would have to be unorigonal and many people probably have it. id go through the car and start replacing bushings and bearings but im real short on cash and dont wanna change out everything because it would likely be too expensive...also no one wants to lay in thier driveway with snow blowing around. so if any of you have heard of this problem please let me know! thanks!

Good call on the bushings. There is a common problem in 96-98 Pathfinders, its the rear trailing arm bushings. It causes the Pathfinder to "death sway" all over the road at freeway speeds. Like it wags around uncontrollably. Does that sound like you?

You can get just the bushings at 4x4parts.com for about $40 (but consider the cost of labor which can be $150+) You can buy brand new trailing arms at the dealer for $200 i think, with new bushings already pressed in You can search 4x4parts.com R50 forum for more info.. Hope this helps...
