It started yesterday, while driving the Pathfinder, started to over rev, like to 35000 while in park. ( It is normal to be at 21000 while in cruise at 70 mph.) It also continues to want to stay at that rpm. I have no clue what is up with it. It was cold but it only is doing it after warming up. By the way, I am new hear, I love my Pathfinder, and thanks for any help.

Sorry about that, it went away over afew days but, and drove normal till today, now it is back. While driving it suddenly revs so high I have to give it full brakes. In park it revs into the red! Any idea what it could be? Hope its a cheap fix!

I'd be suspecting the cruise control. You can remove the cable for cruisecontrol from the throttle and see if it goes away. It could also be a stuckthrottle cable.

by the way you stuck an extra digit on all the numbers. at 35000 rpm, your engine would likely explode.

My friends dad had the same issue in his impala. You need to clean out the throttle body. Just go buy a can Throttle body cleaner and spray a bit in will its running. That should fix the trick
