I upgraded my stereo system last year to a double din touchscreen Pioneer system with wireless CarPlay.

I have the factory Bose system so I used the PAC interface to keep the stock amp. I also replaced the tweeters with a set of kicker ones as the factory tweeters were dead.

The one thing I did not change were the door speakers. Are there any speakers in particular that are the plug and play type where I wouldn't have to run new speaker wires?

Yeah I’m familiar with crutchfield but most of the new speakers are 4ohms and isn’t the nissan Bose system in this years pathfinder a 2ohm?

That’s why I’m wondering if they will work properly.

You can always drive higher ohm speakers from a lower ohm amplifier, just not the reverse. The amp can't output any more power than the speakers permit, so running 4 ohm speakers on a 2 ohm amp will simply give you less maximum output. Running 2 ohm speakers on a 4 ohm amp will blow the amp.

You can refine the search at Crutchfield to show 2 ohm speakers.

Got it, Thanks

I got a Bose system with individual amps located next to speakers , and speakers measure DC Resistance of 1.2 ohm , which the nominal IMPEDANCE (different) is probably 1.5 or 1.6 ohm - Bose uses VERY low impedances for these setups . The amps are typically H-bridge MosFet , fed " high level " and extremely low Z (impedance) out .
In Crutchfield , I believe FOCAL makes some stuff to go right in Nissans , the right physical fit AND a 2 ohm impedance . As VStar says lower output using BOSE 1.6 ohm amps with ANY 4 ohm speaker gonna sound like a little light at the end of a tunnel , lose lot of dynamic range to the ear too is what I hear many say putting 4 ohm speakers in Bose type system. (decibel ratings aside)
Now I got 4 Bose round ,like 4" to 5 1/2 " @ 1.1DC Resistance ohms that came from buying the 4 slave amps off ebay , my speakers were different AND OK so I put just the amps in , with " Beefed-up " the heat sinks in the J30.Gets 120 F in AZ !!
If your interested ( round Bose speakers ,have 4) I can go to storage get photo ,and verify size ,depth , and DC resistance ohm and sell to you cheap :yesnod

p.s. FOCALs I mentioned = $$$ 300+ for just two :lolling:

I think I'll try out a set of kickers for the front speakers. I'll leave the back Bose speakers in for now.

Definitely tell us how they they fit and sound . If you have a multimeter it would be interesting to know the resistance of those fronts and also the new ones you buy . I have a juke I need to up the audio w/speakers ,
please get back :) I'm taking in suggestions too.

So got the speakers and installed them. Got everything to fit good with some adjustments made to the bracket the speaker came with. Had to use a Dremel to cut out a piece of each bracket as it was touching off on the speaker amp or crossover unit. Speaker screw slots without the bracket would not line up to the factory holes.

In the end it sounds great. There is so much more clarity and the music sounds clean. Can't tell with the bass, maybe it has more but would still benefit from a sub.

The Nissan Bose speakers measured about 2.8 ohms. The new ones were just under 4 ohms.

From what I read on another forum the rear speakers on this years pathfinder are controlled by the amp in the trunk wall. And the radio controls the front door speakers and tweeters which are split by the unit next to each speaker (crossover?).

Thanks for the info . And yes those rears , if they got the amp somewhere right by the speaker was in my J30 , and DC resistance was a sick 1.2 ohm !!!! They sound fantastic with a Kenwood MARINE CD/FM/USB BT !
The Juke - Damn Aerosmith Sweet emotion sounds like half the music is GONE , I had to squint my ears to confirm it was in freakin-fact Aerosmith :rotflmao
Gotta do something about those cheesy , pancake looking Juke speakers :lolling:
