97 Nissan D21 “Boot-control lever” replacement

Hello everyone. I apologize if this has been asked and answered before. I did a search I didn’t see anything.

I am in the middle of an engine rebuild for my 1997 D21. The Nissan Part Number: 32862-8B000 “Boot-Control Lever” needs to be replaced but I am struggling with how to get the new one on. Any tips or know how would be greatly appreciated.

You're searching for an older part number. The supersession is 32862-05G60 and I see plenty of them around online.

I wasn’t looking for the part, that’s easy enough. My question was about the installation of the new part. I can’t seem to figure out how to get the new one on.

Should just be a long zip tie at the base. See MT-10 here:
