97 maxima AC problem

my 97 maxima GXE began to have burnt smell and abnormal noice from AC compressor last month, my mechanic said the AC compressor is borken. He had the compressor and dryer replaced by rebuilds. Now the smell and noise disapper, AC works but not as cold as before. especially when the temperature is very high outside, the AC blows but the air is not very cold until the car speed becomes high. Is this normal？ if not, what do I need to check and fix?

You could possibly be low on charge. I'd take it back to the mechanic who replaced the compressor and have it checked. You could also have a problem with the blend door being stuck open, and letting in warm engine air.
