97 max garage door opener

hi just got a 97 max and it didnt come with manual. trying to set garage door opener on sun visor. i tried to push button on the opener itself then hold the button on the remote but that didnt work.

To clear any previously stored channels, press and hold the two outside button until the red light flashes rapidly (approx 20 seconds).

To program a channel, pick which button you want to program. Hold your garage door opener to the bottom of the visor, then press and hold the selected button and the door opener. The red light should start flashing slowly. Continue holding both buttons until the red light flashes rapidly (approx 10-90 seconds) then release both buttons.
